The double-table system in a double-table fiber optic laser cutting machine is designed to increase productivity and minimize downtime. It allows the operator to load and unload materials on one table while the machine is cutting on the other table simultaneously. Here's how it typically works:
The machine has two separate working tables, usually positioned side by side or front to back.
While the laser cutting head is working on one table (let's call it Table A), the operator can safely load and position the sheet material on the other table (Table B) without interrupting the cutting process.
Once the cutting job on Table A is completed, the laser cutting head automatically moves to Table B and begins cutting the material that was loaded by the operator.
While the machine is cutting on Table B, the operator can unload the finished parts from Table A and load a new sheet for the next job.
This process continues alternately between the two tables, allowing for continuous production and minimizing the time spent on material handling.
Some double-table systems also feature an automated pallet changer, which further enhances the efficiency of the loading and unloading process. The pallet changer allows the operator to prepare the next job on a pallet outside the machine while the current job is being cut, and then quickly swap the pallets when the machine is ready for the next job.
The double-table system significantly reduces the non-cutting time, which is the time spent on material handling, loading, and unloading. This results in higher productivity, faster turnaround times, and improved overall efficiency of the fiber optic laser cutting machine.
